Motion and Asana don't share a direct native bridge, so you connect them through Zapier. The most popular Zap fires whenever a new task is added to a specific Asana project and instantly creates a matching task in Motion, where Motion's AI then automatically schedules it into your day based on deadlines and priorities. You can also set up a Zap that marks a Motion task complete when the Asana task is marked done, keeping both boards in sync. A small business owner who manages team projects in Asana but plans their own day in Motion uses this to avoid manually re-entering tasks: Asana is the team source of truth, and Motion is the personal execution layer. Setup takes about five minutes in Zapier — you pick 'New Task in Project' as the Asana trigger and 'Create Task' as the Motion action, then map the name, due date, and priority fields. Data flows: Asana → Motion: task name, due date, description, priority. Motion → Asana: task completion status (via a second Zap). Pain points: There is no bidirectional sync in a single Zap — you need separate Zaps for each direction. Zapier polls Asana on a schedule (as fast as every 1–2 minutes on paid plans), so there is a short delay before new Asana tasks appear in Motion. Subtasks require their own Zap trigger to transfer.

Via Zapier, when a new issue is created in Linear, Zapier instantly creates a corresponding task in Motion. Motion is an AI scheduling tool that auto-prioritizes and time-blocks your day, so this connection lets engineers track work in Linear while Motion schedules when they'll actually do each piece of work. You connect both accounts in Zapier, set 'New Issue in Linear' as the trigger, map the issue title and description to the Motion task name and notes, set a due date if present, and activate the Zap. Motion then applies its AI scheduling — fitting the task into open calendar slots based on priority and deadline. You can also trigger on 'Updated Issue in Linear' to push re-prioritized issues into Motion as fresh tasks. This is especially useful for solo founders or small teams where one person is both managing the backlog in Linear and scheduling personal work in Motion. Data flows: Linear issue (title, description, due date, priority) → Motion task (name, notes, deadline). One-way push from Linear to Motion. Motion handles scheduling from there; no data flows back to Linear. Pain points: The integration is one-way only — completing a task in Motion does not update the Linear issue status. Duplicate tasks can build up in Motion if issues are frequently updated and you use the 'Updated Issue' trigger. There is no built-in deduplication, so you may need a Zapier filter to avoid creating a new Motion task for every minor edit in Linear. Teams larger than 2–3 people may find Motion's individual focus less useful for shared issue tracking.

This integration connects Cal.com's scheduling events to Motion's AI-powered task engine via Zapier (no native direct connection). The typical Zap fires when a new booking is created in Cal.com and creates a corresponding task or project in Motion, so preparation work lands on your schedule automatically. Cal.com also offers triggers for bookings cancelled, rescheduled, and meeting ended — giving you four automation entry points. Motion then uses its AI scheduler to prioritize and time-block the resulting tasks around your existing calendar. Setup takes about five minutes on Zapier and requires no code. The flow is one-directional: Cal.com pushes booking data to Motion; Motion does not push task updates back to Cal.com. Data flows: Cal.com → Zapier → Motion. Booking data (attendee name, event type, time, duration, notes) flows into Motion task or project fields. Meeting video URLs from Cal Video are not included in the Zapier payload and must be added manually. Pain points: Cal Video meeting URLs are not surfaced in the Zapier booking payload (an open GitHub issue as of mid-2025), so you cannot auto-populate meeting links into Motion tasks. Each Cal.com event type needs its own separate Zap, which adds maintenance overhead if you have many event types. Motion does not currently offer a direct native integration with Cal.com, so Zapier is the only path and you need a paid Zapier plan to run multi-step Zaps reliably.
